The -Mode. Compilation

A five-cd compilation, each one for a different mood

“The -Mode. Compilation” is initially a set of four cd’s I compiled and designed as a present for a friend of mine. Each cd has different music styles but follows a stable line of “mood”, and thus the titles of the cds are “Lively high”, “Lively low”, “High calm”, and “Low calm”. There’s a fifth cd for more powerful “mood”: Lively Hardcore. See the tracklist.

Guggenheim in Rio

Jean Nouvel has designed an incredible building for the new Guggenheim Museum in Rio

The French architect Jean Nouvel showed in New York his magnificent design for the new Guggenheim Museum in Rio. Escaping from the typically “Nice Architecture” he revolves around conceptual architecture, submerging parts of the museum under the water, except the ceilings in order to get natural light. The first thing you see is a great aluminium wall that tells you: “forget about all the rest.” Upon entering the lobby of water ceilings you walk through the galleries, including a big space exclusively for multimedia art (Finally!). When you exit the multimedia art gallery, you enter into a rain forest, including a waterfall, and at the end there is a large tube of steel with a blurb structure on top working as a restaurant… seems is going to be incredible!! MS-DOS

Whenever the word “MS-DOS” is heard, we imagine a black screen with white or green letters. Is that old-fashioned?

Not at all. Not only the trends in interface design support this inverted display style more and more, but it also has more tangible advantages. LED inverted displays (standard mobile phones, car radios, HiFi systems…) generate less annoying light and require less energy. Now even future Windows operative systems will show lighter text over darker background. Although not comfortable for reading long texts, less light is more comfortable and healthy for the eyes. See this picture for more examples:

Hero

If you liked “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon” and such impressive visual combats, don’t miss this new beautiful Martial Art movie

I have already watched this movie and the feeling I got from it is: shaking fast action in slow motion. A shaking movie. Don’t forget to visit its also good looking website and watch the trailers!
