Best car resource (?)

Probably the most complete list of cars â€â€Âincluding prototypes of all time, including photos and descriptions

It is the kind of listing I’d love to see printed in a book or enciclopaedia (not only because some links just don’t work and the navigation is far from perfect), but this link to Ultimatecarpage.com shows a list of most concept cars of all history (about 90%?) with several large photos of each. If you click on the manufacturers’ names you also get a list of most of their production cars too! That’s quite a lot of cars, dude. Note: I initially wrote this entry using “all” instead of “most”. Tallest bridge

Some photos of the tallest bridge which Norman Foster has designed in France and everyone has already written about

To inaugurate a new AVTG category â€â€ÂConstruction, involving all kinds of giant architecture and engineering wonders so much loved by meâ€â€Â, here’s no less than the tallest bridge ever. Should you not know about it yet, I’ll tell you it’s located in France and designed by Norman Foster, one of its 7 pillars heighing 243 meters â€â€Âalready more than the Eiffel Tower and is 2,5 kilometers long. Press release and Official site. More photos after “more”. [Thanks Mery G]

I’ve been officially pimped!

Or at least i’ve added a cute white stripe around my Seat Arosa all the Ford Gran Torino style

[I just had to blog this]. I’ve been thinking about it for a year, doing sketches and photoshops, and it finally looks even nicer than I had imagined. It just works when you add stripes following the actual design lines of the car, instead of senseless tribals or flames that stick out like a sore thumb. If you live in Europe you know what I’m talking about. And yes, the Ford Gran Torino with the white stripe was the car of Starsky & Hutch. Click on more to see larger pictures of both cars.

IV Festival Edición Madrid

Good job by the organizers of FEM’s fourth edition for young designers, Hosted this year at trendy Hotel Campomanes

The Festival Shows a selection of artists, fashion designers and many other disciplines out of which we highlight Tiago Valente with an installation about the creative process of his new fashion collection which only exists as a concept, but trust me, it’s more than enough.
Guzman de Yarza in his documentarist trace, shows a video about an amazing character and uses the space as a sign of the real story behind the video by having the character as his guest at the hotel.
And also Bruno Milani, a creation of Filosofia Canalla, questioning aspects of the fashion world with a wonderful and mysterious collection for fancy little monsters.

MSN Spaces for everyone

The world needs a hassle-free truly customizable personal website service. Oh, Microsoft just released it

The fact that it censors certain s-words seems very secondary to me. That you can have your very own personal web page without the need of any special knowledge or web space is what really counts. The first person I know with an MSN Space has difficulties using interfaces like Hotmail but is already enjoying adding content to her virtual corner. I’ve seen some others’ and it looks like it offers some decent level of structural and visual customization. Photo albums, lists of favourite stuff, mobile publishing, ease of management, MSN Messenger integration and you have all your non-geek friends setting up sites. http://spaces.msn.com.

Photographic map

A website shows a regular map of Spain that turns photographic when you zoom in

The SIGPAC (Agricultural Plot Geographical Identification System) has photographies of all the spanish territory taken from several different heights, which show on a map once you zoom enough. This organization may not be interested in photographying from even higher altitudes but I can imagine a photographic map being photographic all the zoom way. If you know something similar for other country or even the whole planet, that would be great to know so don’t hesitate to leave a comment.

Job outsourcing

LOL, another self-explanatory post with nothing to comment about

Job outsourcing. Oh wait, that’s been done by some being called Neurotically Yours. Do watch the rest of their pieces of neurosis. Special recommendation for this time of the year: No Christmas For You. Well I do have to comment about something: I had never seen such amazing hand gesture Flash animations before. [Thanks again Yorgos]

London Orbital

In case you didn’t know, Orbital music duo name comes from London’s orbital highway. Or maybe you just know the highway but not the music.

I found this edition of Ian Sinclair’s London Orbital book (said a bestseller) with a nicer looking cover using the big “O” symbol some Orbital albums had on their covers. To round off this entry, here’s a link to a live Orbital concert beginning with a song called the most popular sign in London: Way Out.

London graphic identity

Some examples of what the city looks like graphic design-wise when you walk around (LONG POST)

During the past unblogged week I spent some sightseeing time in London with my family, with no hackable WiFi in my hotel room. Very basic sightseeing which allowed me to get interested â€â€Âand attracted in all the public signs that build the city’s typo-graphic style.
