Unrealized Moscow

Drawings of retro-futuristic-looking unrealized buildings in moscow from 1920 to 1950

Probably my favourite topic about crazy empires like the ancient Rome, Hitler’s Germany, the Far East and this red Russia: huge magnificent buildings of self-propaganda. The Palace of the Soviets proposal pictured below is dated 1934 and measured 415 metres high. [Via BoingBoing]

Somewhere else

Yes, I’ve been away for quite awhile now…

It’s not that I needed a hell lot of sleep after the Insomnia contest, just that I didn’t feel like blogging here. That, and that I was focused in building another blog project. For every one of you spanish moaners who complained about Avantglance being written in english, and also for the ones not interested in my blogging about cars here, I started Autoblog.com.es, “The independent magazine about the automobile world in spanish” — something that simply didn’t exist in the Internet before. Now it’s more or less settled, so hopefully I’ll be back writing here too.
