What the fuck with Dakota? What the fuck with that movie? What the fuck with The War Of The Worlds?

Holy shit with the story, is he insane? I mean, I loved it! How can you make it so HUGE. It made me look around in the cinema to make sure i was still in my safe world. It’s so the point of a movie to excite me this deeply. Go see it, let it play with you. Impacting - or i’m just too impactable.

The War Of The Worlds

Post-excitement-note: They did it great not showing any image of the scaring stuff in the trailers or website. Again, I’d ask you to go to the cinema with an open attitude.

XP2 is Windows Vista

File this under civilization, society, human race evolution. It’s the next Windows OS

Media Alert: Microsoft unveils official name of “Longhorn”, the next-generation Windows. It’s Windows Vista, and you can forget it now if you want: you’ll be hearing it every day for the next 5 or 10 years. How big is that? You can watch the video and imagine me as one of the sectarians attending to the presentation. The slogan? Clear, Confident, Connected. Bringing Clarity To Your World. Fuck clarity, just bring Vista A.S.A.P.

Fold n’Drop Windows

Please Microsoft, integrate this in Longhorn (XP2). A research project to make overlapping windows foldable just as they were papers

First time heard about this I thought it was a clone of Sensiva, a software my Wacom and I couldn’t live without to perform common actions like minimize, maximize, close, open programs, etc. But no, the Fold n’Drop project would be a perfect complement for Sensiva and for a nearer Minority Report hand-gesture-driven computing. Also especially useful for those who don’t know you can drag a file from one window to a hidden one by activating the hidden one in the taskbar, these foldable windows behave exactly like paper, and your finger is the mouse. Do watch the video before you go mad blaspheming against my ineptitude in describing stuff…

Flag Diagrams

“Meet the World” campaign features several countries’ flags with a small caption describing which color zones correspond to which social group. The thing that made me get back to writing here :)

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been coming across really interesting stuff that evoqued the “let’s blog this” switch in my head. A change means a lot of changes, and since I’m moving to San Francisco soon (automotive design degree attempt!), why not revive good ol’ Avantglance bloggin’?

If you appreciate/enjoy/ love the piece below, don’t miss this collection of “enhanced” flag designs that show off this kind of inspired Meet The World Flag Diagramsdesign that looks so obvious after some genius invents it. If you don’t, don’t ever come back to this website. [Via Josh Spear]
