Tourism in Antartica growing exponentially

Tourism in Antartica

It really must be getting comfortably warm down there :D

Number of tourists in Antartica:
1990: 5.000
2003: 15.000
2007: 37.000
2010: 80.000 expected

No wonder they are building a highway across the continent.

“Hola ¿sabes quien soy? Hmm pues no ni puta idea adiós” XDDD

HALO

Halo theme by college teen virtuoso band Corporeal (of 3 guys playing 1 guitar fame) and a few other Halo 3 trailers that make you wish you were had the time to be addicted to videogames.

You can count videogame franchises that have set a decade-lasting standard in their categories with a hand and a half, and while I’m no fan of First Person Shooters, watching the following trailers makes me proudly remember Halo is one of them — I actually played multiplayer Halo 2 for months.

Monome

I’m tempted to start a new category, Technohuman, for innovative devices that augment our senses or skills in order to produce Superhuman results (really, the Hang Drum should be one of them). Monome, a year-old open source interface system with a grid of highly customizable button-LEDs, is one of them, and the most beautiful application is music.

Two more videos, including interview and demos by one of its creators: (more…)

The Future of Media (copyright is illegal)

A clip about the future of media according to Italian consulting firm Casaleggio Associati, in which, among many other predictions, they present an upside down world where copyright is what’s illegal, and where your virtual avatar is as important as your terrestrial avatar.

A hilarious Colbert Report clip

One of the funniest in weeks. First, in an episode of Better Know A District, Washington’s 9th district representative gets nailed so hard he hardly recognizes himself after the interview. After that, an interview with a guy who’s written a book entertaining the idea that USA is like Rome. If you know Stephen Colbert you’re already laughing.

Da Shatner Funk (Da Conan O’Brien Show)

The awesome video that follows is a remix from an original clip from The Conan O’Brien Show. I can’t wait to see this one featured on the next show:

SUPERHUMAN: Chinlone or the art of soccer without goals

A 1500 year old sport/dance hybrid from Myanmar, Southeast Asia, where there are no opposing teams or winners and the “goal” is to play the game most beautifully performing moves of amazing foot skills, as complicated as possible, for the longest time. [wiki] There is also a documentary.

Wtfpost

What the fuck with Dakota? What the fuck with that movie? What the fuck with The War Of The Worlds?

Holy shit with the story, is he insane? I mean, I loved it! How can you make it so HUGE. It made me look around in the cinema to make sure i was still in my safe world. It’s so the point of a movie to excite me this deeply. Go see it, let it play with you. Impacting - or i’m just too impactable.

The War Of The Worlds

Post-excitement-note: They did it great not showing any image of the scaring stuff in the trailers or website. Again, I’d ask you to go to the cinema with an open attitude.

Vlucht

Group of international young creators launch a bilingual magazine in Amsterdam

It seems that a few months ago it was very hard to find your way through entertainment, art and culture in the city of Amsterdam, especially if you where one of those monolingual english speakers. After six numbers, Vlucht is a reference of modern living approaching art, music, fashion, architecture and other ideas, so if you find yourself lost in Amsterdam or planing a quick visit, pick it up for free at any bar or store and it will guide you through the correct path. Hero

If you liked “Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon” and such impressive visual combats, don’t miss this new beautiful Martial Art movie

I have already watched this movie and the feeling I got from it is: shaking fast action in slow motion. A shaking movie. Don’t forget to visit its also good looking website and watch the trailers!

X-Men 1.5

Getting prepared for the release of X-Men 2, with a rethought, more corporate-mode name: X2

The producers show us a new good idea, X-men 1.5, which sounds like something very exciting and new, but it’s only a DVD with Special Futures and some Bonus materials. At the end what counts is that they found a new naming for DVD’s obviously copied from computer software. Also around this 1.5 phase they’ve developed a good web page, x2-movie.com, worth visiting the Stryker’s Mutant Database, trying to be a 3D database… well done!
