A blog about all things worth our precious time. Tercera parte. By Luis Camino

[This is an actual email sent to my Transportation Design classmates and teachers]

I may have found the ultimate tool for creating the “bubble” or “memo” maps Shook introduced us to in Trans 4 this week; and what’s best, sharing them for active feedback: Bubbl.us That is, hands-on editing by those you choose. The obvious advantages of making the bubble map on this website/program are several:
Z. Automatic arranging and coloring of bubbles by levels.
Y. Manual rearranging of bubbles at any time, both in placement and hierarchy.
X. Shows primary and secondary connections between bubbles distinctively.
W. Shows direction of connections.
V. Option for exporting to high resolution JPEG, perfect for printing any size.
The less obvious but with most potential feature is the ability to share bubble maps with coleagues, and give either read-only or full edit access. The latter, in my opinion, can be especially useful throughout the semester in Trans 4 and I encourage all of you to try it out. Registration is easy through the invitation email I am sending you right after this one. (And no, I don’t get commission or anything from this :))

Yes, I’ve been away for quite awhile now…
It’s not that I needed a hell lot of sleep after the Insomnia contest, just that I didn’t feel like blogging here. That, and that I was focused in building another blog project. For every one of you spanish moaners who complained about Avantglance being written in english, and also for the ones not interested in my blogging about cars here, I started Autoblog.com.es, “The independent magazine about the automobile world in spanish” — something that simply didn’t exist in the Internet before. Now it’s more or less settled, so hopefully I’ll be back writing here too.

A joke was the way they eliminated me from the Insomnia contest in the hour #31 (see posts below) after arriving 7 seconds late from one of the breaks
Not that I was 100% sure I was going to win, but I was in perfect physical and mental conditions to last 24 hours more and give more hope to all the people that was watching me (that was fun). Anyway, here’s the joke [Thanks Yorgos]:
A Three-year-old little boy was examining his testicles while taking a
bath. “Mama,” he asked, “Are these my brains?” Mama answered, “Not yet.”

26 hours and still there!!! Showing in a new social sector the moral strength of the avantglance team
18 fools have already left and few more are showing sings of weekness.
Luis (Kamino) has been tempted to abandon, considering his social goal fullfilled, but has moved into a competition role and he´s now making a big effort to stand.
The feeling is that there is, at least, another day ahead… suffer and pain is ahead, please be supportive.

Kamino needs help with the popularity ranking he is only in tenth position and we know he deserves better.
As you read in our previous review, Luis is participating in a reality show kind of contest, no sleep, no cell, no talking, no many things BUT publicity.
As of first handed information we know he is doing fine, the organizers like him, and he will stand all night long without problems, he usually works all night so he is used to it.
The first guy that fell apart did so after fifteen minutes, he realized it wasn’t for him. At 3:00 pm another guy quitted confessing it was too hard and he started to feel kind of a paranoia… after a while 2 more quitted; only 29 left to go.
As said, over all, he is doing fine but we need your support, please visit www.jwt.es and vote for KAMINO.

Allright, now that I attracted your attention: I’ve been selected along with other 34 fools to participate in a quick two or three-day reality show kind of contest
Yes, that implies being in the TV and having a bunch of freaks paying attention to you… yeah… So, sponsored by advertising leader J.W. Thomson, Insomnia ‘05 is a marathon in which we will be exposed to constant audiovisual advertising for indefinite time, and subjected to very strict rules like “you shall not fall asleep, lay down, talk with anyone, use the mobile phone”, etc. The last one to remain sticked to the chair/screen wins 6.000€ and that’s gotta be me. You can see it live in that website from Thursday 3rd, 11:00 GMT+1.
